Every two weeks, a personality presents us with his ideas for ending the weekend in style.
He is passionate about renovation, loves spending hours in his garage and appreciates beautiful design objects. After living in the Laurentians, he’s back in Montreal, and if you want to spend your Sunday with Lou-Pascal Tremblay, the young Dr Faubert of the series STAT, you have to love the bike! The actor offers us a motorcycle tour through Montreal, with his best addresses in the four corners of the city. Hang on!
Sunday rhymes with motorcycling!
“We have just moved into a house in Villeray that we have renovated and we are finally starting to enjoy it. On Sundays, I get on my motorbike and head into Old Montreal for the Café Olimpico. It opens at 6 a.m., notice to those interested! I love this place, I have a good coffee with a croissant after riding my motorcycle through the deserted streets of the area early in the morning. I love motorcycling, I’ve been riding it for seven years. It’s a real way of life, especially on a sunny Sunday, it’s therapeutic. There is a real feeling of freedom, you can feel the engine purring, I love the mechanics. I always dreamed, from an early age, of riding a motorcycle. I thought I was sitting on a rocket! »
Boutique and art gallery in Old Montreal
“Maison Pépin is a shop that I love on rue Saint-Paul Ouest. I love all things designer, and I love shopping for home decor and kitchen accessories, vases, placemats, plates. My mother is an interior designer and my father an architect, it certainly comes from there. I am sensitive to beautiful things, furniture, lamps, and I have an eye for detail. I will also take a detour to the S16 art gallery. Comedian and actor Stéphane Rousseau passed on to me the love of visual art and I am starting to create a mini-collection of paintings! It changes everything to have a beautiful painting in a room, so I like discovering new artists. It’s always nice to drop by the S16 gallery. »
The Redpath Museum to discover
“From Old Montreal, we go back to the city center and take a short tour of the Redpath Museum. I feel like not many people know about this little gem of a museum which is attached to the Faculty of Science at McGill University and is well worth a visit. It exhibits prehistoric animals, dinosaurs, mummies, it’s incredible! I love going there once in a while. Rue Crescent, I recommend Boutique Tozzi, which is a real cabinet of curiosities, there are beautiful clothes, but also accessories, glasses, cups, bowls, design objects and also Tozzi coffee! I love walking the streets of Montreal, discovering new addresses and shops. I walk, I shop, I rest, without guilt, because Sunday is a day of happiness and well-being! »
Off to Outremont!
“One of my favorite motorcycle routes is to start from the bottom of Atwater Street, turn onto Doctor-Penfield Avenue, and go to Park Avenue in front of Mount Royal. Then it will be towards Outremont, because Laurier Avenue is one of my favorite streets, from east to west. I lived for two years on rue Querbes at the corner of Laurier, in Outremont, and I must admit that I love the tranquility of this neighborhood. The greenery, the parks, it’s beautiful and very pleasant. Often, when I lived there, I ordered a take-out lunch from the Japanese restaurant Mikado and settled in one of the neighborhood parks, Beaubien Park or Outremont Park. Going through this neighborhood is part of my ideal Sunday route because I would like my next home to be in Outremont! »
A bit of sport on the Plateau
“I then go to Espace Thomas rue Saint-Denis, a sports club which is really a nice place. There is a cold bath on the terrace, and it was there, in full sun last summer, that I learned my texts from STAT ! The Dr Faubert is a very fine role, a good doctor with a small dose of arrogance. STAT, it’s incredible visibility and doing this series is adrenaline. I love it and I have a blast playing with Suzanne Clément! After the sport, I’m going to go back home to Villeray, put the bike back in the garage, and I’m going to end my Sunday in a good restaurant. At the moment, I really like Le Bivouac in the Quartier des Spectacles. The terrace overlooks the Place des Festivals, there are cushions and a DJ, it’s very pleasant. There is also Place Carmin, rue William. We’ve been celebrating three birthdays here with friends and we can’t get enough of it! »
