Protecting the environment and collecting waste in nature: this is the spirit, during the weekend of Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17, of the participatory and civic operation “I love clean nature”.

In Puy-de-Dôme in Saint-André-le-Coq, CM2 students are combing through their village. “Plastic wires, there were cables, pieces of plastic lying around on the ground”, lists Nathan, a student. A little further away, the village mayor, Dominique Busson, a hunter, is also at work. “Children will realize that we should not throw just anything into nature, that it pollutes it. And when they are 20 years old, I think they will still be a little more responsible than our fellow citizens currently “he said.

10,000 cubic meters of waste collected in 2023

The “I love clean nature” operation takes place on Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17 in the region. Initiated by the National Federation of Hunters and supported by the French Biodiversity Office, it mobilizes 90 departmental federations. By 2023, 90,000 volunteers had collected more than 10,000 cubic meters of waste.
