the huge tattoo on Olivier Marchal’s forearm after a “drunk evening”

Guest of At the heart of creation, a podcast of which an extract has just been revealed on RTL’s C account (formerly Twitter), Olivier Marchal spoke about several moments in his career as a director and actor. Indeed, the man who celebrated his 65th birthday on November 14 even recounted a filming memory that was epic to say the least!

To justify his tattoo Borderlineon an arm, a word which corresponds to one of his films released in 2015, but also a personality disorder, the latter confided to Xavier de Moulins:

“That was a failed bet in Bulgaria after an obviously drunken evening and an after party where I lost… I had to engrave the title of one of my films on my arm. I took the one which went best, but which also suits me”he recalled, referring to the filming of the television series Section Zero broadcast on Canal + in 2016.

A burnout

As a reminder, the filming of the series Section Zero was particularly difficult for the director. As proof, exhausted by the six months of filming in Bulgaria, the director was forced to be hospitalized following his return to France due to “burn-out”.

“The script had all sorts of ups and downs, but the background of violence remained. And that’s what I wanted. It became the story of a group of idealistic cops – with questionable methods, I agree – who try to survive human barbarity with the hope, in their guts, of a better tomorrow. he confided at the time about this eight-episode fiction.
