It’s the cinema event of spring: this Wednesday, April 5, the film will be released everywhere in France “The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan”, the first part of a two-part saga adapted from the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas. In the casting, spectators will find Pio Marmaï (Porthos), Romain Duris (Aramis), Vincent Cassel (Athos) and François Civil (D’Artagnan) in the role of the Musketeers, Louis Garrel in the role of King Louis XIII, or even Eva Green, in the role of Milady de Winter, who will carry the second part of the saga, scheduled for December 13.
Invited this Friday, March 31 from RTL Evening, François Civil, who is on the poster for this first part, returned to the very unusual circumstances of his casting. Contacted at the last moment by the producer of the film, François Civil tried everything to convince him: “Three days before, I was offered this meeting with Dimitri Rassam, the producer, to talk to me about the project. I learn that it’s Les Mousquetaires and I say to myself I have to bet everything. I had long hair at the time, so I made myself a little ponytail, I trimmed my mustache” debuted the comedian.

”I bought the novel two days before”
François Civil didn’t stop there to catch Dimitri Rassam’s eye. The 33-year-old actor, nominated for the Césars in 2022 and 2023 for his roles in “BAC North” And “In Body”went so far as to make the producer believe that he knew the work of Alexandre Dumas inside out: “I lied by telling him that Les Mousquetaires was my bedside book, when I had bought it two days before as an audio book, listening to it in x3 to try to speed up the story a bit. to have a few cartridges to take out” concluded, hilarious, François Civil. A lie that seems to have worked since François Civil finally got the role!
