“The ‘Hit Machine’ was pure fun!”

It was the favorite meeting place for teenagers in the 1990s and 2000s. On Saturday mornings, they tuned into M6 for the hit-machinea musical program where artists from all over the world came to sing on stage and where the public discovered the ranking of the best selling records.

At the presentation, a duo that has now become legendary: Charly and Lulu. 13 years after the end of the program, the duo is reforming on Tuesday February 8 for an exceptional show recorded at the Dôme de Paris, with the stars of the time: L5, Pascal Obispo, Larusso, Garou, Yannick… “Good memories, there are plenty! confides Jean-Marc Lubin, alias Lulu. We both had a blast, it was just fun.”

The atmosphere was quite incredible, the artists came, laughed, people were already laughing in the corridors.

It was the peak of boy band, guests every week on the set. So much so that the two animators had set up their own group, called the “Top Boys”. their song The fire, it burns became a hit: “This song is part of us, we ask for it. It’s our signature! We wrote the lyrics and the music.“

Since the end of hit-machine, everyone went their own way: Charly in the United States to do production, Lulu in Paris to work with Jean-Marc Morandini on CNews. But their friendship never ended: “If we’re not friends, it can’t last that long. We actually did a lot of things together after the hit-machinefor example tours with the show’s leading artists.”

It all started for them at the Maison de la Radio, where the programs of Christophe Dechavanne, of which they were the assistants, were filmed. “He told us ‘You like to laugh in meetings and in the hallways, come with me on a set on the air, we’ll see if you’re going to laugh for a long time!’ It was Dechavanne, we had no choice!”
