The 18-year-old high school student taken into custody Monday after the stabbing of his English teacher in Chemillé-en-Anjou (Maine-et-Loire) was indicted for three assassination attempts, announced the Angers public prosecutor’s office on Wednesday May 29. He was placed in pre-trial detention. On Tuesday, this same source revealed that the young man was targeting two other students at the establishment.
This is a “premeditated act” from this student who had no “never been reported to the judicial authority”Angers public prosecutor Eric Bouillard told the press, while specifying that he was not specifically targeting this teacher.
Unknown to the police, the high school student was arrested “very quickly” after the events on Monday and placed in police custody, the authorities then announced. The victim, a teacher attacked “during his English class”according to the Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet, suffered “from a facial injury with no life-threatening prognosis”the authorities had specified.
