Julien Denormandie will join a start-up and create his own consulting company. But the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATVP), however, has expressed a number of reservations concerning the retraining of the former Minister of Agriculturein a decision made public on Monday, September 12.

“Particular caution must therefore be observed by Mr. Denormandie in the choice of his clients or the companies in which he would take a stake, especially if the latter belong to the city, housing, agriculture or feed”she believes.

The former minister, who held three positions in the government related to these themes during Emmanuel Macron’s first five-year term, wishes “create a company in order to deliver consulting services and take stakes in the capital of other companies”, announces the HATVP. He was also appointed “director of impact” of the start-up Sweep, which helps companies measure and reduce their carbon emissions.

With regard to his consulting company, the risk of illegal taking of interests “cannot be excluded”, points out the HATVP. It thus asks him to refrain, among other things, from taking any stake in a company which he was responsible for ensuring the control, the supervision, or with which he had concluded a contract within the framework of his functions for the three previous years. .

The HATVP raises, on the other hand, a “ethical risk” if his company “performed services on behalf of the administrations over which he had authority or at his disposal”. He is therefore asked to refrain from “perform any service” on behalf of his former services for three years.
