The tulip tree is a large flowering tree, up to 40 meters high. Its deciduous leaves consist of 4 lobes forming a sort of tulip-shaped cup, hence its name. Its yellow petals give off a light and pleasant odor attracting many pollinating insects. The fruits only appear after 20 years! The tulip tree is considered a fossil tree because it has evolved little since its appearance on earth. The tulip tree is one of the American medicinal plants whose use dates back many centuries. From its bark is extracted a compound that can be used as a heart stimulant. It relieves migraines and rheumatism. A symbol of eternal life, the tulip tree is one of those trees that never dies!
