The hidden power of trees: the redwood

The sequoia is a conifer that is often seen in parks and botanical gardens. It is an impressive tree by its size and weight, it is remarkable for its majestic bearing and its very thick bark of a reddish brown. Its longevity invites us to respect. The oldest redwoods recorded in California are around 3500 years old. The introduction of redwoods in France dates back to the 1850s. The one planted in those years, in the park of the Jean d’Anse house in Castets, in Gascony, presents its 6 trunks, its circumference of almost 8 meters and you looks down from its 39 meters high. In Touraine, that of the park of the Beaune house in Ballan Miré, very close to Tours was planted in 1870, and measures 30 meters today. There is nothing simpler than recharging in 5 minutes from a large sequoia. Sit with your back to the tree and stick your head to the trunk. Place your left hand at the level of the lower back, palm against the shaft and the right hand at the level of the solar plexus. Let the tree recharge you.
