Hawthorn is a hermaphroditic shrub that can reach 10 meters in height with a life expectancy of 500 years. Its fruit, cenelle, is ripe in September/October. It is prized by birds and small mammals. You can cook them to make tasty jams, jellies or syrups. To protect yourself from prowlers, plant succulent hawthorns. Quite simply because the trunks and branches are covered with formidable stings 5 to 10 cm in length.
