the heartbreaking declaration of Anisha Jo, last winner of the “Star Academy”, who was able to meet her family!

She was only six years old. On April 30, 2007, Grégory Lemarchal died at the age of 23 the aftermath of a short-lived battle with cystic fibrosis. Two and a half years earlier, the young man was crowned the big winner of the fourth edition of the Star Academy, beating hands down Lucie Bernardoni in front of more than ten million viewers. Sixteen years after his death, no one has been able to forget the voice of this very special angel of French song, and regular tributes are paid to him, on television and on social networks.

This Tuesday, September 12, 2023, it was the last winner of the Star Academy, Anisha Jo, who paid him a moving tribute. Although she did not have the time to know him since she was born on November 28, 1999, Anisha Jo was nevertheless able to follow his short career, and fell in love with his songs: ‘‘It was in 2014 that I met his voice on his cover of The show must go on. From the first notes, his voice touched my heart. I started singing his songs. Several years later, having sung his songs in the casting, I was taken into this great adventure of the Star Academy which he won in 2004.”

”I didn’t know him but…”

Last weekend, Anisha Jo, accompanied by Karima Charni and Adeline Tonuiti, went to meet Laurence and Pierre Lemarchal, on the occasion of a Chambéry show dedicated to their son: ”Thanks to this, I was able to meet his parents, reflections of the beautiful person he was. Since then, a bond has been created. I didn’t know him but in my heart he had a place. And not just in mine, but also in the hearts of millions of people. For the first time, this weekend allowed me to go see him and tell him how much hope his fight left. And it is also this hope and love that I wish to share through my voice. confided the one who published her first opus Tu rayonnes last June.

”Thank you to everyone who made this weekend unforgettable, which we closed together with Write History. Thank you Grégory Lemarchal for bringing us together” concluded Anisha Jo in a post that her Star Ac singing teacher Adeline Tonuiti quickly commented on: ”Wonderful moments spent”. And Karima Charni concludes, recalling a song that her friend Grégory had sung: ”The link’‘.
