Stéphane Lannoy, in charge of professional arbitration, received a letter of summons from the French Football Federation (FFF), the Sports management of Radio France learned on Tuesday February 27 from sources close to the matter, confirming information from L’Équipe. The pre-interview is scheduled for Wednesday morning. This disciplinary procedure may go as far as the dismissal of Stéphane Lannoy.

As a reminder, Stéphane Lannoy strongly disagrees with Antony Gautier, technical manager of arbitration. In addition to this, several sources criticize the poverty of certain technical courses in which referees participate. They also point “insufficiency” techniques, including in management.

Stéphane Lannoy supported within professional clubs

Another point revealed by the daily L’Equipe – which the Sports management of Radio France was able to confirm – and which puts Stéphane Lannoy in difficulty: the fact that he sent a message to the president of LOSC Lille, Olivier Létang , during the match against Montpellier on January 28, in which he criticized the refereeing decision taken by one of the assistant referees.

Aware of the problem, the FFF recently raised the subject on the sidelines of an executive committee during which Antony Gautier was notably heard. The decision will fall to the president of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo, whether or not to maintain Stéphane Lannoy in his post, who has support within professional clubs.
