The animal market now represents several billion euros and companies in the sector want to be more and more innovative. Start-ups are multiplying in the Pet Tech sector.

For many owners, nothing is too good or too expensive when it comes to pets. In Mathilde Combeaud’s fridge, the meals of her dog, Gigi, also take pride of place. “It’s fresh, organic food prepared for her, that I get delivered every month”, she explains. On the menu, beef parmentier or organic chicken, straight out of the kitchens of a caterer. Gigi has nothing to envy to her mistress’s meals.

A way for Mathilde to pamper her dog, but also to settle her food allergies, avoiding industrial products. This attention costs him approximately 45 euros per month. Food fads now apply to pets, with a tendency for the natural. In a pet store in Paris, sales of healthier food have soared in recent years. Advanced food is not the only sector that is growing: high-tech accessories for animal welfare, such as connected collars, are also increasingly popular.
