Adecco: the group was condemned for ethnic registration

(FRANCEINFO)

On Wednesday March 13, justice delivered its verdict. She found the Adecco group guilty of ethnic registration of temporary workers.

A body of evidence establishing a roster of temporary workers and discrimination based on origin or skin color is what allowed the courts to condemn the company Adecco on Wednesday March 13. The decision, however, leaves a bitter taste for the civil parties, given the amount of the fine that the group will have to pay. “50,000 euros is a pittance for me. (…) But hey, at least we were recognized as victims.”says one of the victims of ethnic registration.

“A modest sum”

One of the lawyers for the civil parties believes, for his part, that “for a company which is a leader in temporary employment, which has a turnover of 32 billion, this is a modest sum”. According to many civil parties, the gap between the damage and the amount paid is too significant. The case is not over: victims can now go to the industrial tribunal to have Adecco convicted in each particular case.
