The legendary waiters’ race returned to Paris on Sunday March 24, after years of absence. Some 200 competitors competed.

This Sunday March 24 marked the return of a legendary race with the feel of the Olympic Games. The waiters and waitresses of Paris came to win the most beautiful medals in the streets of Paris. To win the competition, you must reach the end of the 2 km course, without spilling the glass of water, the coffee or the croissant.

200 competitors

Among the 200 competitors, some have been training. “I was third on the first straight, and my athletic condition makes it hard”, deplores Théo Roscian, apprentice waiter. The waiters’ race was born in 1914, to highlight French-style service. It has become a popular meeting place, which has marked the history of Parisian brasseries. Copied all over the world, it stopped 13 years ago in Paris. His big comeback is now to the delight of spectators.
