Arrival at Gostomel (Ukraine), near kyiv, for Western officials: it is an emblematic place for Ukrainians. In fact, it was through this airport that the Russian invasion began, just two years ago. Present on site, the President of the European Commission was keen to reiterate the support of Europeans: “We are here to tell you that Europe will continue to stand by your side for as long as it takes, with more financial support, more ammunition, more training of your troops”said Ursula von der Leyen.

Faced with Ukraine’s recent difficulties, several bilateral agreements have been signed with Volodymyr Zelensky’s allies. Thus, Canada announced aid of 2 billion euros, Great Britain released 287 million euros, and for its part, Italy signed a security agreement: a great first for Rome.
