The Great Explorers | Japan, between a megalopolis and small villages

The Great Explorers are finishing the 2023-2024 season in Japan. Director Philippe Soreil teamed up with filmmaker Maximilien Dauber to present several facets of the Land of the Rising Sun, starting with Tokyo, a megalopolis of 14 million inhabitants.

The directors then move to small villages, closer to nature. They want to demonstrate that these two worlds are not as far apart as one would think and that they share the same culture.

Philippe Soreil, who will make the presentation, will talk in particular about the tea ceremony, the art of gardens and haikus, short poems which express so much in a few words.

The tour of Tokyo, in the land of extremes will end on May 26.
