the actor brought joy to lovers of the seventh art, but also to his grandson, Laurent, for whom he was a true source of inspiration.
Interviewed this Wednesday February 28, 2024 by our colleagues atParis here, the 62-year-old actor spoke at length about his grandfather. The opportunity for him to talk about his family history. Laurent de Funès in fact accuses Jeanne Barthélémy, the second wife of the actor who died in 1983, of having orchestrated the succession in order to exclude her from the inheritance.
“She hurt us, she stole everything from my father, Daniel, she hid documents. The notaries claimed to have lost them”, he confided in particular before returning to the particularly tense relations between Patrick and his half-brother who would obviously have preferred “die than give a penny to Daniel. According to Laurent de Funès, Joan of Barthélémy would have “everything registered in his name” to get the biggest piece of the pie.

A common passion

If the actor who died at the age of 68 had dissuaded Daniel’s son from launching into the profession because of the difficulties in the industry, he preferred to follow his instinct.
“When you’re an actor in France, it’s complicated because having a last name like that is hard. In the business world, that poses no problem, in the showbiz world… a little more!”, he explained on the set of Telematin January 26, 2023. Touching declarations.
