Isabelle Rome, Minister Delegate in charge of Equality between Women and Men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, is the guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2, Thursday March 3.

The pact new start”which aims to help women who want to leave after domestic violence, is to be announced on Friday March 3. “I am going to launch the first experimentation of this device in the Val-d’Oise. It is a device which is intended to help women who feel in a situation of danger with their violent spouse, to extract themselves from the clutches of this one”specifies Isabelle Rome, Minister Delegate in charge of Equality between women and men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, on the tray of the “4 Truths”.

A gradual generalization until the end of 2025

What does this pact contain? “It will be enough for them to go see either an association, or a doctor, or that they go to the police, to a mayor in a village. This person who will welcome them will be able to report this situation and then, afterwards, contact a single referent. This referent will trigger the other partners with all the help they may need to get back on their feet”, explains Isabelle Rome. The system must be fine-tuned over 12 weeks in Val-d’Oise, then be extended to four other territories, including one rural and one from overseas. Then a gradual generalization until the end of 2025.

What types of aid are targeted? “This can be an allowance, assistance for her return to work, for her return to training, for childcare, psychological support and emergency accommodation if necessary. And this without her having to need to knock on all the doors”confides the Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities.
