The 53 km long motorway project linking Castres to Toulouse was the subject of a meeting between elected officials from the territories concerned, environmental associations and the State, Friday October 13.

The government will lead the A69 motorway project, linking Castres to Toulouse, “until its end“, Franceinfo learned, Monday October 16, from the office of the Minister of Transport. Clément Beaune observes that a “very large majority“elected officials from the territory reaffirmed, Friday, October 13, their support for the project, during the meeting organized by the State services where all the elected officials concerned by the route were present, as well as environmental associations and representatives of the world economic.

The minister’s office assures that the State is “determined to achieve” the project. The ministry is putting forward a project that meets local expectations which has benefited from consultation.in-depth“and for which”all options” have been studied. He also recalls that all disputes have been dismissed by the courts, such as recently a request to suspend the work. “All suspensive appeals were rejected.“
Work on the A69 motorway will continue from this Monday, October 16. Declared of public utility in 2018, the project was the subject of more than 500 public meetings. The associations opposing this 53 km portion of the highway called on Friday for mobilization on October 21 and 22 on the route, indicated France Bleu Occitanie.
