To try to stem the 5th and 6th waves of Covid-19, the government is betting on a global vaccination. A new step could also be taken, with the introduction of the health pass in the workplace.

Will we soon have to present our health pass to be able to work? This is the hypothesis on the government’s table, in order to fight against the fifth wave of Covid-19. “It would be good, because the concern is that there are too many people there who are infected day by day”, estimates a woman interviewed Sunday, December 19 by the teams of France Televisions, while another finds the option “complicated”, especially because of people who do not have a health pass.

The health pass is already compulsory for people working in places open to the public. Since August, the 20 employees of Villa Tourny in Bordeaux (Gironde) have presented their health pass in order to be able to work. 14% of employees are today concerned in France. The measure could be extended to the entire working population. In stressed sectors such as production, where teleworking is impossible, the implementation could prove to be complicated. “That would add yet another additional constraint and a great difficulty in recruiting”, comments Benoît Serre, vice-president of ANDRH, an association serving human resources professionals.
