The counter goes to 22. Barely minutes after the rejection of a motion of censure and the adoption of the “revenue” part of the 2024 draft budget, Elisabeth Borne once again appealed to article 49.3 of the Constitution to have the 2024 draft budget adopted without a vote, during a new reading in the Assembly, Saturday December 16.

“We cannot do without a budget”, declared the Prime Minister to justify the new recourse to this constitutional provision since her arrival at Matignon. The motion of censure defended by La France insoumise only received 75 votes out of the 289 needed to bring down the government. LFI immediately announced a new motion of censure.
