The government is tackling work stoppages issued by teleconsultation

The Minister of Action and Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal announced this Sunday in an interview with the JDD that the government has de-reimburse work stoppages issued by teleconsultation when these are not issued by the attending physician. “These judgments delivered by video by a doctor who is not the attending physician will no longer be reimbursed by Social Security”. This is one of the measures of the draft social security budget which will be made public on Monday.

It’s about “to prevent some from chaining online consultations until they find the one who is willing to issue them sick leave”, argues Gabriel Attal. “We have seen an explosion of sick leave given, in teleconsultation, by a professional who is not the attending physician. It’s almost 100 million euros last year”.

Strengthening the powers of Social Security cyber-investigators

More generally, in his interview with the JDD, Gabriel Attal insists on the fight against social frauda nod to the LR deputies whose vote could be valuable when examining the state and social security budgets in parliament.

For this, the Minister for Action and Public Accounts promises to “strengthen the powers of cyber-investigators from the Social Security funds” who can “identify a professional who only declares a salaried activity, but offers his services as a freelancer on Leboncoin without declaring them…”

Gabriel Attal specifies that “fraudsters will no longer just be fined, but will also have to pay their application fees because the French are tired of paying for them”.
