The government “did not prepare the territory to face these thugs and the violence”accused Jean-Philippe Tanguy, deputy of the National Rally of the Somme, deputy president of the RN group in the National Assembly, Sunday May 19 in “Political questions” on France Inter and franceinfo, in partnership with The worldwhile New Caledonia has been in the grip of riots for several days.

The deputy for Somme assures that the National Rally supports the thawing of the electorate for the provincial elections, but regrets that the government has not taken “take into account the demands of the independence forces”. According to him, “democracy is not when the majority, even if it is important, crushes the minority, that is not true democracy, that is macronism which listens to no one”he asserts.

Jean-Philippe Tanguy denounces the obstinacy of the French state: “Everyone who deals with this issue knew that if we did not dialogue, if we did not find a political follow-up to the three referendums for the future of New Caledonia, we seriously ran the risk of violence.”

But the deputy for the Somme assures that “taking into account a risk is not submitting to it, it is preparing for it”. The riots in New Caledonia left six dead, including two gendarmes, and several hundred injured. According to Jean-Philippe Tanguy, “these six deaths should and, sincerely, could have been avoided”. The government does not “sent the police necessary to secure the territory” and does not have “protected a number of critical locations, including hospitals or airports”. “Not only did he take this risk, but he did not prepare the territory to face these thugs and the violence”he accused.

Jean-Philippe Tanguy assures that the separatists are getting involved “thugs, criminals who took advantage of this cause to pervert it and commit only violence, looting and attacks”. The elected RN notes that“we find ourselves, in just one week, on the verge of civil war with six deaths”.
