the gourmet tip that allowed Philippe Etchebest to seduce his wife

It has almost become an unmissable event for singers, actors and public figures: to come and answer questions from the Rencontres du Papotin troupe, where the journalists for a day all have an autism spectrum disorder. The show, broadcast on France 2 since September 2022, allows us to collect the secrets of the stars and above all answers to sometimes very personal questions.

And after Angèle, Jonathan Cohen and even Emmanuel Macron, it was the turn of chef Philippe Etchebest to be cooked by Papotin. And the journalists didn’t pull any punches, asking for example the cook why he got angry all the time in his broadcasts, in particular Kitchen nightmare.

Her best friend in on it

But the chef also had the opportunity to look into his private life, after a question from a journalist asking him if he had ever made a rose-shaped pastry. The opportunity was ripe for
Philippe Etchebest to reveal the way in which he seduced his wife Dominique.

“When I first met my wife, I gave her a bouquet of chocolate roses, explained the chef, in front of a touched and amazed audience. And the jury of Top chef went big to seduce the young woman: “I spent the whole afternoon at the restaurant making chocolate roses because her best friend told me ‘she loves chocolate’. So I spent three hours making a little bouquet.”

And result? “I gave it to him and it worked well because It’s been going on for 30 years!, enthuses the best worker in France today. In the show, Philippe Etchebest also spoke about the couple’s inability to have a child, which led them to adopt a little boy in 2005, despite the chef’s initial reluctance. “An emotionally difficult journey” and which will last 5 years, but with a moment rich in emotions and a son to cherish for life.
