Like every day, the 11 p.m. news takes a tour of the news broadcast by European television channels. It’s Eurozapping on Friday November 4th.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is visiting China. This is the first trip by a European and G7 leader since the Covid-19 crisis, almost three years ago. With Xi Jinping, they notably discussed the consequences of the war in Ukraine, the economy and peace in the world. Several European countries have had little taste for this initiative, accusing Germany of going it alone.
The Polish army has begun construction of a barbed wire wall along the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. A barrier with a height of three meters on the 210 kilometers of common border. Officially, the idea is to prevent the arrival of illegal migrants. A decision that reassures some local residents.

The Netherlands discovered a work of Rembrandt long ignored. This is an oil sketch, which experts believed was a copy. It was actually painted by the master in the 1640s and is titled “The Raising of the Cross“. The painting, which even contains a self-portrait, will be exhibited in a museum in The Hague.
