Gambardella Final: match suspended following projectiles thrown by Parisian supporters!
This Gamberdella final between OM and Nancy is suspended! The referee decided to send the players back to the locker room following projectiles from PSG supporters already present in the stadium, particularly towards Dosso, the young Marseille goalkeeper.
The match was stopped in the second half, while the Marseillais were leading at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille.
The final of the 70th edition of the Gamabardella Cup, which pits the best French youth teams (under 18s) against each other, was interrupted by the referee in the 68th minute at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, Saturday May 25. The Marseille goalkeeper was targeted by a projectile coming from the stands, while his team led 2-1 against Nancy. The meeting was able to resume after an interruption of around ten minutes.
Before the break, Yanis Delaveau had reignited the suspense by reducing the gap for AS Nancy Lorraine, after the achievements of Keyliane Abdallah and Clément Mathis for Olympique de Marseille in the first quarter of an hour. The Phocéens are looking for a second Gambardella Cup title after 1979, while the Lorraines have never won the competition.
