Europe Ecology MP Les Verts de Paris Julien Bayou was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo”, Thursday November 30. Relaxation from Éric Dupond-Moretti, opening of COP28 in Dubai, supervision of furnished tourist rentals… He responded to Jérôme Chapuis and Salhia Brakhlia.

The “conviction” that the Court of Justice of the Republic must be “suppressed”

Éric Dupond-Moretti, the Minister of Justice, was acquitted on Wednesday by the Court of Justice of the Republic, at the end of his trial for “illegal taking of interests”. Julien Bayou, substitute judge at the CJR, expresses his “conviction” that need “DELETE” this instance. The Green MP believes that there is a “need in this country for equality of French people before the law and this requires suppression” of the CJR.

COP28: “We absolutely need this framework for multilateral discussions”

Nearly 200 countries gathered for COP28 which opened Thursday November 30 in Dubai. A conference in an oil country, “it may seem hopeless”, believes Julien Bayou, “and yet, we absolutely need this framework for multilateral discussions”.

But France itself “has a real tendency to avoid talking about angry subjects: gas and oil”, deplores the environmentalist deputy. He attacks TotalÉnergies which “is one of the companies that will destroy the planet” with the support of the government.

Furnished tourist rentals: “taxation pushes crime”

A transpartisan bill, adopted in committee at the National Assembly on Wednesday, November 29, aims to rebalance the taxation of furnished tourist rentals so that it is not to the detriment of year-round rentals. An observation shared by Julien Bayou, who “feel very stronglyent the disappearance of permanent housing”.

“Today, what is regulated is the number of days [de location] of your main residence, but not the rest. It’s incomprehensible. We must favor long-term rentals.”

The environmentalist deputy denounces “taxation encourages crime” for tourist rentals, “which is not justified”.

Winter Olympics 2030: “we must change the way” of hosting these events

The only candidacy remaining in the running for the organization of the Winter Games in 2030 is that of the French Alps. This application, which brings together several places, is “already a way of measuring that these major events, which require an enormous amount of energy and perhaps even specific infrastructure, are becoming problematic”, believes Julien Bayou. For the MP, it is a signal “that you have to be able to change your footing and change your way” to host these events.

Julien Bayou suggests that “if the French Alps are designated”the venues for the tests are further extended: “perhaps we can share certain infrastructures with Switzerland”suggests the environmentalist deputy.
