Its construction will begin at the end of 2025 on the Saint-Nazaire shipyards (Loire-Atlantique) and should replace the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier by 2038. 10 billion euros invested
The new generation aircraft carrier is 75,000 tons on the water, twice the mass of the Charles de Gaulle, for an estimated cost of 10 billion euros. The price of power to be able to deploy one’s army anywhere in the world, when less than ten countries are capable of doing so today.
