The future concessionaire of the A69 has filed 115 complaints for damage to the motorway construction site, reported Friday June 7 France Inter, which joined this company, Atosca. In total, 11 vehicles were set on fire. Walter Guyonvarch, project director at NGE-BTP, which is building this axis between Toulouse and Castres, also denounces “rocks”.

“We will see the project through to the end, that’s our goal,” he says before the start of a new weekend of mobilization against the controversial project. His opponents plan to gather starting Friday. “We hear today a lot of people who say that the construction site has barely started, this is completely false”assures Martial Gerlinger, the general director of Atosca. “We are at approximately 80% of the earthworks areas which have started, we are at approximately 60% of the works. Out of 450 million euros of budget, we must today be at approximately 230 million ‘euros spent by Atosca’, he adds.

In May, the local collective of opponents La Voie Est Libre estimated that less than 40% of the earthworks areas had already been completed. “The highway is not half built. There is no bitumen, and therefore it is not built, this highway. All the expropriations are not carried out. There are road projects which are dismantled after the fact because they are deemed illegal by the courts, we do not lose hope, and we will continue to fight.declares an anti-A69 activist present on one of the two ZADs on the site, who requested anonymity. “Several tens of thousands” demonstrators are expected between Friday and Sunday, according to Les Soulèvements de la Terre and local environmental groups.
