The kick-off of the 2023 Rugby World Cup was given this Friday, September 8 with a match between France and New Zealand. The day after the victory of the Blues, was held at the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille, another meeting, that of England against Argentina.
For the occasion, Kate Middleton had made the trip to Marseille and was seen in the stands to support the English players. The Princess of Wales was also able to see them triumph since they won the match with 27 points against 10 for Argentina. Since February 2022, Prince William’s wife has been patron of the Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League, a position previously held by Prince Harry. That’s why she was present for this special event and that’s why she didn’t hesitate to go to the locker room to congratulate the players.
The images of this rare and unprecedented moment were shared this Sunday on the England rugby team’s Instagram account and we discover the princess dressed in an elegant white suit, welcomed by the player Courtney Lawes in a corridor after the match. “It was a pleasure to have such a special visitor in the dressing room after Saturday’s game against Argentina. Thank you for your support, HRH The Princess of Wales!” can we read in the caption of the publication.
