The funeral of Yvan Colonna will take place on Friday March 25, in Cargèse. Journalist Alexandra Lay, special correspondent in Corse-du-Sud, provides some details.
The remains of Yvan Colonna have arrived in Corsica. His funeral will take place on Friday March 25. “[Elles] will take place [vendredi 25 mars] at 3 p.m. in Cargèse (Southern Corsica). This small village of 1,300 inhabitants has always been the stronghold of the Colonna family, Yvan Colonna himself was hosted there“, reports journalist Alexandra Lay, in duplex, Wednesday 23 March, from Ajaccio (Corse-du-Sud). It is also in Cargèse that the Corsican nationalist became militant.
Regarding Friday, “so far nothing has leaked,” continues the journalist. “The Colonna family remains very discreet about the organization of this funeral, they even wish to avoid the presence of the press. What we know is that these funerals will inevitably have a wide echo in Corsica“, concludes Alexandra Lay, who recalls that for the time being, “the Colonna family has done everything to prevent there from being a resurgence of tension on the island”.
