The funeral of the famous Quebec astrophysicist Hubert Reeves, who died Friday at the age of 91, will take place on October 25 in Paris, we learned Monday from his entourage.
The public ceremony is planned at the Père-Lachaise cemetery, said Laurence Honnorat, close to his family.
Died Friday in Paris at the age of 91, Hubert Reeves was a masterful storyteller of the history of the Universe, famous throughout the world for his popular work on the cosmos.
His quote “To look far is to look early”, to evoke space-time, is an illustration of this.
The Quebec scientist who looked like a Gallic druid was also an ardent defender of the planet. Becoming president of the Humanity and Biodiversity association in 2001, he has continued to warn against the massacre of species and global warming, and to challenge politicians.
