The date of the farewell is now known. The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday, September 19, at 11 a.m. (noon, Paris time), at Westminster Abbey, in London, Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday, September 10. King Charles III, his son who succeeded him, declared a public holiday in the UK for the occasion.

Leaders from around the world are expected for this funeral. Among the expected personalities, the American presidents Joe Biden and French Emmanuel Macron, the emperor of Japan, Naruhito, as well as many leaders of the former British colonies.
Before the ceremony, the body will be put on public display for four days in Westminster Hall, the oldest section of the Houses of Parliament, after a procession through the streets of London.
