the function of Marguerite Cazeneuve, number 2 of the Cnam, in a relationship with the Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau, presents “no conflict of interest” according to the HATVP

The HATVP has decided. According to this independent administrative authority, “solicited” by the new Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau, the couple that the latter forms with Marguerite Cazeneuve is not “likely to constitute a situation of conflict of interest”. In a decision rendered on Tuesday July 25, the High Authority for the transparency of public life considers that “the function of the minister’s spouse”namely deputy director of the National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam), does not pose an ethical problem.

“As far as she is concerned, Madame Cazeneuve is placed, like the other directors of the establishment, under the authority of the general manager and does not have any delegation of power”, specifies the HATVP in its decision, which France Télévisions was able to consult. To prevent any risk of conflict of interest, a “deportation decree” provides that Aurélien Rousseau “will withdraw from any decision directly or indirectly concerning the professional situation of his spouse”adds authority.
