The FSE-CSQ in “intensive negotiations”

The Federation of Education Unions (FSE-CSQ), which represents tens of thousands of primary and secondary teachers, confirmed that it had begun “intensive negotiations” during the night from Thursday to Friday.

The discussions accelerated on Thursday and work remains to be done, the FSE-CSQ press officer indicated to Duty Thursday during the day. But the two parties ultimately entered into a famous “blitz”, with very close meetings, to tie up the last threads and try to reach an agreement as quickly as possible.

The FSE had rejected Quebec’s latest offer on Tuesday, considering that it was a “major step backwards”, and then made a counter-proposal on Wednesday morning, “with the aim of relaunching discussions in order to obtain an agreement before the holidays. The Autonomous Education Federation (FAE) is still on an indefinite general strike since November 23.
