Yaël Braun-Pivet, Ensemble MP, was the guest of “4 Vérités de France 2” on France 2, Monday July 8.

The New Popular Front came out on top in the second round of early legislative elections on Sunday, July 8, and no one has an absolute majority. Is the new National Assembly even more confused than the previous one? Yaël Braun-Pivet, outgoing president of the Assembly and deputy for Ensemble des Yvelines, notes: “The French wanted to send us a lot of messages and we will have to decipher them as we go along. But what we see is that they did not want a group or a political force to be hegemonic in the National Assembly.”

It is now up to the deputies to work together and find ways to form a coalition. “This is what is happening in all the European countries around us. I am told that France would not be capable of it, because it is not our political culture. For months, for years, I have thought the opposite.”, she adds.
