The French women’s gymnastics team qualified for the Paris Olympic Games next summer, thanks to their seventh place during qualifying for the World Championships, Monday October 2 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The Blues, led by their leader Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos, had to finish in the top 12 to qualify the team for the Olympics. The Martinican and her teammates Marine Boyer, Coline Devillard, Lorette Charpy and Morgane Osyssek at the same time ensure a quota of five individual places for Paris. This was the main objective of the competition for the French women.
Men’s team misses qualification
They totaled 160.930 points, which allowed them to take seventh place and compete in the team final. On Sunday, the men’s team failed to qualify for the Paris Games after finishing 19th in qualifying.
