In the midst of a diplomatic war between France and Russia, a rumor is growing on social networks. A document attributed to the French Ministry of the Interior mentions the fact that the reception of Ukrainian refugees would now be stricter. A text seen more than 130,000 times since Wednesday April 3 and which delights some Russian Internet users. Is France tightening its reception conditions for Ukrainian refugees? This is false, despite the logo of the French Republic, the Ministry of the Interior denies in a tweet. This false information particularly stigmatizes Ukrainian men and seeks to discredit them.
Conditions have not changed
In reality, the reception conditions have been the same since the start of the war. Around 115,000 Ukrainians have been welcomed in France since the start of the war. Nearly 200 sites publishing misleading content have been identified.
