France will not seek a golden statuette next year in Hollywood. The Academy of Oscars unveiled (link in English) Tuesday, December 21 the list of preselections in 10 categories. The French cinema may hold the record for the most nominations in the prestigious category of best foreign film, it will remain a spectator this year: Titanium, feature film by Julia Ducournau celebrated in Cannes by the Palme d’Or, did not pass the preselections. The list includes the Italian Paolo Sorrentino with God’s hand and the Japanese Ryusuke Hamaguchi for Drive My Car. As for the best song, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Ariana Grande are in the running for the Oscar.
