“Anatomy of a Fall”, directed by Justine Triet, traces the trial of a woman accused of having killed her husband with the couple’s visually impaired boy and their dog as only witnesses. The success of the film transcends borders, to the point of being nominated in five categories at the Oscars.
Anatomy of a fall is in the running for the Oscar for “best film” and in four other categories of the prestigious American ceremony, which will take place on March 10. “It’s a huge surprise and a great joy”, reacted the French director of the film, Justine Triet, Tuesday January 23. The film had already won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023.
Two Golden Globes in the United States
Justine Triet recounts the trial of a woman accused of killing her husband with the couple’s visually impaired boy and their dog as only witnesses. The film was a success in France with 1.3 million spectators in cinemas. It also won over abroad with 1.6 million admissions. On January 8, Anatomy of a fall won Golden Globes in the United States, for best screenplay and best foreign language film.
