This time, it’s official. Through a press release, the French Rugby Federation ratifies the general package of AS Bayonne, for the entire season of Elite 1 women (first division). A situation “penalizing for the rest of the Elite 1 competition and the development of women’s rugby”, that the FFR says “regret[r]”.
“Women’s practice is a priority for the FFR, its president Bernard Laporte, vice-chairman of World Rugby and its vice-president Dr Serge Simon, chairman of the World Rugby Women’s Rugby Commission.”
On Tuesday, November 16, following a strike by its players denouncing a lack of staff and training conditions “inadmissible”, a board of directors had been convened. By a final vote, it was decided to forfeit the entire season.
The FFR has received a general forfeit declaration from the AS Bayonne Board of Directors for its women’s team playing in Elite 1.

Sportingly, this general package cancels all the previous results of the Bayonnaises this season. The other teams in the group will have automatically won the match against ASB and will thus collect the five points of victory.
