According to a study, car insurance is too expensive for two out of three French people. That of housing is also too high for six out of ten French people.

The home and car insurance bill represents a significant budget for the French, 1,800 euros on average. So, some passers-by want to limit their car-related expenses. “I consider all other means of transport, because it is a significant cost of my budget”, says a woman. According to a study of 1,000 people, car insurance is too expensive for two out of three French people, and home insurance too high for six out of ten French people.

Policyholders are looking for solutions to lighten their budget. “Overall, 27% of French people are thinking about changing their habits. Perhaps moving, to be closer to their work and, even, eliminating their vehicle”, explains Christophe Dandois, Leocare Assurances. Thus, 11% of drivers could part with their vehicle and 3% of them plan to no longer pay car insurance, which is however compulsory.
