Protesters gathered in Ottawa on Saturday, forming a smaller version of the “freedom convoy,” according to the city’s police department.

A restricted route has been designated to expedite the passage of the convoy, keeping in mind the safety of the population. A strong police presence made sure to block the roads and manage the traffic.
Bridges, roads and intersections closed in the afternoon were able to reopen around 5:30 p.m. So far, no incidents have been reported. Police continue to closely monitor the protest, which is now heading east on Highway 417.
“Earlier this week, [la police d’Ottawa] has been informed that a vehicle demonstration from Quebec intends to make a symbolic passage through Ottawa and go to a final destination in Vankleek Hill,” tweeted the police department.
