The Prime Minister of Chad announced, Sunday, October 30, the release of a Franco-Australian kidnapped by an unidentified group in the east of the country on Friday. He was “found and brought to safety”and he is “in good health”says on Twitter Saleh Kebzabo, who congratulated “the defense and security forces for this prompt successful action”.

The Chadian authorities had revealed on Saturday the kidnapping of this manager of an animal reserve, confirmed by the Quai d’Orsay in the evening. It is not known who his captors were.

The hostage “was released in the province of Tibesti [dans le nord du Tchad]in a border area of ​​Niger and Libya by our defense and security forces”told AFP Ayoub Abdelkerim Abdoulaye, governor of the province of Wadi Fira, where the Franco-Australian national had been kidnapped.

The French Foreign Ministry said on Saturday evening that it had “learned of the kidnapping of one of our compatriots in Chad”. He explained to be “in connection with his family, as with the Chadian authorities, in order to obtain his rapid release”.
