Thursday, April 7, people aged 60 or over can have access to a second booster dose of vaccine against Covid-19. However, it is not compulsory.
The fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is already available and recommended for people over 80. Thursday, April 7, it is now offered to people aged 60 to 79. An announcement that divides among the population concerned. A woman thinks that “it’s better” for her, a man declares to him that he does not intend to be vaccinated again except if his doctor prescribes it.
These French people can receive a fourth dose six months after the injection of the last booster or a Covid-19 infection. This dose is not mandatory. For his part, the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, underlines that for people aged 60 or over, a second reminder “reduces the risk of hospitalization, resuscitation and death by 80%”. France is following in the footsteps of Israel, where the fourth dose of vaccine for those over 60 has been open since the beginning of January.
