Monday June 27, as the number of Covid-19 cases increases in France, people who can benefit from the booster dose of vaccine go to the pharmacy to make an appointment.
The fourth dose of vaccine against Covid-19 is open to frail people over 60, as cases continue to increase, Monday, June 27. “Right now, with the fifth wave starting again, the elderly really want to take the fourth dose”, notes Sabrine Azzouz, pharmacy assistant. In the Alpes-Maritimes, the incidence rate is 580 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and those over 60 are invited to carry out their vaccination booster.
This reminder, in addition to avoiding the risk of infection, also reduces the risk of a serious form, underlines Dr Damien Mascret, doctor and journalist France Télévisions. Some have already planned to make this fourth dose, which is causing significant demand among pharmacists. “They are afraid, because in addition there is an upsurge in Covid, so they are all there as a priority”explains Dino Pizzitola, head pharmacist.
