A new soufflé candle for Catherine Laborde! And for good reason this Monday, May 8, 2023, the former flagship host of TF1 is celebrating her 72nd birthday. Being very active on social networks, her sister Françoise Laborde made her followers happy by relaying a rare snapshot of the latter for the occasion. Facing the lens, the two women appear all smiles and ultra-accomplices. “Happy birthday my beautiful Catherine”, wrote the wife of Jean-Claude Paris in the caption of its publication.
And to specify: “Photo taken in 2019… I love you very much”. A beautiful message that has moved thousands of Internet users: “A very happy birthday to Catherine, always so magnificent. I miss her a lot like everyone”, “Radiant, beautiful birthday Catherine”, “We don’t forget her”, “Catherine we always miss her. Big kisses […]. We think very highly of her.” Proof that the latter is sorely lacking in the PAF. As a reminder, Catherine Laborde has suffered for several years from dementia with Lewy bodies.
The symptoms are similar to pathologies such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Moreover, there is – for the moment – no treatment to cure this terrible disease. “Fear is the approach of the end…”
“We dive little by little into something very difficult, very painful and then we go back up. And like in a roller coaster, poof, we go down again. And that’s difficult to live with”, said the wife of Thomas Stern facing the camera. And to add: “It doesn’t ask me for courage, it asks me to hold on. Not to crack, not to resign myself”.
In adversity, Catherine Laborde can constantly count on her family. Especially on his half. Something that is not always easy. “I realize how complicated it is for him […]” she indicated. “Of course I want to run away”, confessed Thomas Stern who was able to find a balance with his companion despite everything. “But I think one of the big tasks that comes up when you have between 8 and 11 million carers is how do you give carers a break.”
Without a filter, Catherine Laborde also shared her concerns: “Fear is the approach of the end, it is a banal fear. What helps me to hold on and not resign myself is the importance we have of still being together […] This is where I realize how lucky I am to have met this man. My own strength is love. It’s undeniable”.
