Mme Miron was a municipal councilor from 2017 to 2021, in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, district of Tétreaultville, in the same sector as the riding of Bourget.

“I know the area well and the issues of the neighborhood, I believe that I am able to serve the population well,” she explained, adding that Québec solidaire defends social values that are dear to it.

The leader of the Parti Québécois, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, announced in January that he would be a candidate in this riding in the next provincial election.

Bourget is currently represented in the National Assembly by Coalition avenir Québec MNA Richard Campeau, who also serves as parliamentary assistant to the Minister of the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change.

In the last provincial elections, Québec solidaire candidate Marlène Lessard finished third.

Suzie Miron lost her seat as municipal councilor by 55 votes, following a judicial recount, during the municipal elections last November, against Julien Hénault-Ratelle, of Ensemble Montréal.
