According to its official website, “the IGAS is defined as an interministerial general inspectorate of the social sector, which carries out control, audit, expertise and evaluation missions, advises the public authorities and contributes to the design and conduct of reforms . It intervenes at the request of ministers or the Prime Minister, but also on the basis of its program of activity. It deals with subjects mobilizing a significant part of national resources and affecting the lives of all citizens: employment, work and professional training, public health, organization of care, social cohesion, social security, population protection.“
Brigitte Bourguignon left the government following her defeat in the second round of legislative elections in the 6th constituency of Pas-de-Calais in June. She narrowly bowed to the candidate of the National Rally (RN), Christine Engrand. The latter had won with 56 votes in advance.
